RESEARCH SCIENTIST 1
Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE)
to join Professor Yang Shao-Horn’s research group on a project modeling kinetics for electrochemical reactions and diffusion of ion (cation and anion) in different phases of electrolytes ranging from liquids to polymers and ceramics and breaking down into its main comprising steps. At each step, a specific electronic, structural, physical, or chemical mechanism can dominate its success rate and will be thoroughly modeled and computationally identified throughout the project. Will lead efforts to either perform the calculations/analyses or initiate collaborations with team members/outside collaborations. Will determine the energetics of different steps with fidelity, determine the concentration defects and carriers in different phases of electrolyte, investigate the rate of kinetics and diffusion, devise new theoretical models based on existing principles and natural physical laws that describe the underlying relation between the experimental measurements and computational predictions and fingerprints, and connect the atomistic simulations to macroscopic (mostly experimentally determined) properties.
