Position Overview:

We are seeking an Artificial Intelligence Research Scientist, who will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing transformer models to push the boundaries of the field of data science. Your work will contribute to the advancement of our core technologies and help solve complex challenges in areas such as document understanding, natural language processing, computer vision, and more. This position reports to the CTO.

Responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth research in machine learning, including literature reviews, experimentation, and innovation, to drive the development of novel algorithms and methodologies.

Design, implement, and iterate on machine learning models to address specific business and technical challenges.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver solutions that align with business goals.

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning research and contribute to the company's thought leadership through publications and presentations at conferences and workshops.

Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate research outputs into production systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Participate in brainstorming sessions, proposing new research directions, and contributing to the company's innovation roadmap.

Assist in patent applications and intellectual property development based on research outcomes.

Optimizing existing models and improving accuracy.

Writing white papers and blog posts related to the models you construct.

Collecting and cleaning real world data.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience may be considered.

Previous experience conducting research, finetuning, and building LLMs.

Mastery of the Transformer architecture.

Mastery of Python. Working knowledge of C++, specifically with CUDA, preferred.

Mastery of Hugging Face.

Mastery of either PyTorch or Tensorflow.

Working knowledge of Pandas and NumPY.

Proficiency in working with large datasets and employing appropriate preprocessing and feature engineering techniques.

Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, optimization techniques, and evaluation metrics.

Experience with deep learning architectures, reinforcement learning, generative models, or other advanced machine learning paradigms.

Proven track record of conducting impactful research in machine learning, demonstrated through publications in top-tier conferences or journals.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a passion for staying at the forefront of technological advancements.

Startup experience is a plus
