General Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the primary objective of the Brand Design Manager is to lead the design and development of creative brand assets that effectively communicate the mission, values, and impact of the San Antonio Food Bank. This role will manage the organization’s brand identity by implementing graphic design strategies and executing environmental design projects aimed at fostering positive brand affinity and innovative experiences.
Essential Functions:
Performs creative brand identity and graphic design work to fulfill the mission of the Food Bank. Projects may include, but are not limited to; logos, flyers, digital graphics, print collateral, signs, murals, and designs for physical spaces.
Identifies opportunities to enhance the Food Bank’s brand experience through design, including packaging, signage, digital platforms, and physical spaces.
Oversees the consistent implementation of the Food Bank’s brand identity across internal and external touchpoints, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and standards.
Conceptualizes environmental design ideas for physical Food Bank spaces to ensure that design elements align with the Food Bank’s brand identity, goals, and audience/visitors.
Evaluates the effectiveness of design solutions through feedback, best practice strategies, and testing to iterate on design concepts and improve functionality, aesthetics, and user experience with Food Bank brand assets.
Manages brand design budget effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently, and projects are delivered within budget constraints.
Manages relationships with external vendors, such as design agencies, architects, printers, and production partners to ensure high-quality deliverables and timely execution of projects.
Works with and accepts direction from the Director of Marketing & Communications to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of brand design initiatives and track progress towards brand goals.
Educates internal stakeholders on the Food Bank’s brand guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent brand representation across the organization.
Collaborates with external partners to ensure that effective brand messaging and visuals are integrated into all aspects of Food Bank related communications and assets.
Continuously monitors the Food Bank’s brand performance and relevance in the community, and recommends strategic adjustments or innovations to maintain brand leadership and competitiveness.
Contributes to other projects and organizational efforts as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience or demonstrated equivalency in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Communications, Marketing, or related fields. Candidates must submit a portfolio of sample work to be considered.
Strong knowledge of graphic design and brand management.
Strong knowledge of design production tools and familiarity with critical digital and physical design concepts.
Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
Skills in computer applications i.e. Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills in creative applications i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to organize work, time, and self.
Orientation to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of deadlines.
Ability to work cooperatively with Food Bank staff, donors, partners, and vendors.
Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.
Work, as needed, to include days, evenings, and weekends.

Work Environment
This job is performed in an indoor office environment and occasionally may require attendance at outdoor events. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
