Consolidated Communication Center, Joint Base Andrews, constructs a 79,374 SF consolidated communication center (CCC) for the Air Force's 89th, 744th, and 83rd Squadrons within a single, two-story steel framed structure with masonry and brick veneer exterior. The facility supports critical communication functions for the Air Force, White House, and Defense Information System Agency (DISA) along with Senior Leaders Command, Control and Communications Systems (SLC3S. The communication center includes a concrete foundation, structural steel frame and standing seam roof, including communication support, environmental controls, pavements, parking area, exterior lighting, landscaping, and all other supports necessary to make a complete and usable facility. In addition to construction of the new facility, the project scope also includes the demolition of two (2) facilities, BLDG 1539 and 1558, totaling 105,841 SF, including removal of electrical/communications ducts, HVAC equipment, and four 25,000 gallon fuel tanks and associated piping.
Conducts or assist with new employee project orientation and basic training with Balfour Beatty and subcontractor employees.
Coordinates all Loss Prevention efforts on the project with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
Attends subcontractor preconstruction meetings, review task specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and assist with planning for safety issues.
Assists with material and equipment acquisition for new project setup.
Conducts frequent inspections of projects and identifies current and future safety challenges.
Assists projects in establishing and administering project safety recognition programs.
Prepares written reports of project inspections and assists project staff with correcting and preventing hazards.
Provides technical safety consulting services for projects and reviews preconstruction safety submittals.
Assists with establishing and maintaining a project crisis management plan.
Conducts accident investigations and assists with OSHA and environmental inspections.
Manages workers compensation claims including the return to work program.
Maintains project incident logs for all reported injuries, GL claims, WC claims, and OSHA recordables.
