Position Summary
The EDI Commerce Manager oversees and manages the data integration with clients and healthcare vendors. This role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems, maintaining data accuracy, security, and compliance with industry standards. The EDI Commerce Manager leads a growing team, including three operations staff and two data analysts, fostering collaboration and innovation to optimize data integration processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
1. EDI System Management:
Oversee EDI systems and solutions' setup, configuration, and maintenance.
Ensure the reliability and performance of EDI transactions and processes.
2. Data Integration: Manage data integration projects with clients and healthcare vendors, ensuring timely and accurate data exchanges.
Develop and implement data mapping, transformation, and validation processes.
Monitor data flow and troubleshoot integration issues.
3. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 3 operations staff and 2 data developers.
Assign tasks, manage workloads, and evaluate team performance.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
4. Client and Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for EDI-related inquiries from clients and vendors.
Collaborate with clients and vendors to understand their integration needs and provide tailored solutions.
Conduct regular meetings to review integration performance and address any issues.
5. Compliance and Security: Ensure all EDI processes comply with industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH.
Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data during transmission and storage.
6. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in EDI and data integration.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
Develop and execute strategies to optimize data integration efficiency and accuracy.
7. ITIL Support Desk Management: Maintain an ITIL-based support desk to address any service disruptions related to EDI.
Ensure prompt resolution of EDI-related issues and minimize downtime.
Implement incident management, problem management, and service request processes according to ITIL best practices.
Monitor support desk performance metrics and continuously improve support processes.
8. Reporting and Documentation: Generate reports on EDI performance metrics, including transaction volumes, error rates, and system uptime.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of EDI processes, configurations, and procedures.
9. Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee EDI integration projects from initiation to completion.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in EDI management, data integration, or a related role.
Prior experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team, manage projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to nontechnical stakeholders.
Bilingual English and Spanish are highly preferred.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Proficiency in EDI standards (e.g., X12, EDIFACT, HL7).
Experience with EDI software and tools (e.g., Gentran, Sterling Integrator, BizTalk).
Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques.
Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle).
Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
This position typically operates in an office environment but remote will be considered for . Occasional travel to client sites or industry conferences may be required.
The role may involve working outside regular business hours to address urgent EDI issues or to perform system maintenance.
