Position Summary: The Senior Director of Health Operations collaborates effectively across health departments to support initiatives to promote excellence, innovation, and patient satisfaction. The Senior Director will provide leadership for COH's risk management and compliance activities for health services and support special projects, particularly telehealth initiatives. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Health Services and directly supervises the Director of Health Operations, Dental Director, and Health Information Coordinator. This is a full-time position based out of our Conway Health & Resource Center in SW, DC.
Salary- This position starts at $125K and up based on experience. Indeed provides their own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH's range.
Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages all aspects of sharing of health information across departments and with partners to improve accuracy, coordination, efficiency and patient outcomes. Utilizes new tools and systems to optimize processes and ensures compliance with COH policies regarding referral and lab tracking and information sharing. Ensures that all processes comply with HIPAA.
Focuses on the continual refinement of operational processes within the Health Services team to achieve excellence. Champions the review of team processes, workflows, and activities to ensure excellent patient satisfaction.
Provides oversight and support for dental services. Champions initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, quality of care, and productivity.
Works with Development, Finance, and program teams to develop grant applications and reports. Clearly articulates project requirements and anticipated outcomes of grants and programs to support successful delivery of outcomes. Ensures that systems are in place to capture information required for grant reports.
Supports COH's efforts to provide telehealth and remote monitoring services by working closely with providers, practice managers, outreach teams, the IT department and billing departments, and others to develop our capacity to provide high quality, reimbursable telehealth services.
Is fully knowledgeable of regulations related to FQHC funding and is responsible for continuous compliance with FQHC program requirements per HRSA handbook. Monitors new requirements and ensures that COH policies and protocols are revised to comply.
Coordinates activities related to the Federal Torts Claims Act deeming application and successfully completes the application annually.
Completes change in scope applications to ensure that all activities are correctly represented on COH's HRSA scope of activities.
Facilitates FQHC orientation training for new directors and managers to ensure that they understand requirements.
Ensures compliance with contractual, accreditation, credentialing, and regulatory requirements for all Health Services teams.
Leads the quarterly Credentialing Committee meetings and reviews monthly reporting to ensure that we are in compliance with HRSA and delegated credentialing contract requirements.
Leads the Emergency Preparedness Committee, ensures that an annual Hazard Vulnerability Assessment is completed for Health Services, and develops initiatives and trainings to improve the Health Services team's readiness for emergencies.
Monitors quarterly completion of COH's Risk Management and Corporate Compliance activities in coordination with other Health Services staff and supervisor.
Meets with supervisees regularly and provides real-time feedback, training, support, and coaching as needed. Creates meeting agendas, sends meeting agendas in advance when possible, and documents concerns promptly as needed.
Applies principles learned through diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) trainings and/or trauma informed care trainings (TIC) and leads with a DEI and TIC lens when appropriate.
Reviews the performance of team members in a timely manner, including completing 90 day and annual performance evaluations per their due dates, documenting any issues or changes, providing recommendations for professional development and/or training opportunities, and recognizing staff when appropriate
Establishes common goals with their team through communication, inspiring and leading team members, and holding team members accountable. ??Links team goals and metrics to the overall strategic plan.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required. MBA, MPH, or CPME preferred, although related job experience will be considered.
Minimum 2 years in health care field in a management role required, 3+ years strongly preferred.
Minimum 2 years supervision required, 3+ years strongly preferred.
Experience with electronic health records and computer systems required; financial management experience preferred.
Demonstrated capacity to manage grants and projects required.
Strong organizational, people, and writing skills required.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ability to work in a non-profit setting.
Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and thorough manner required.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
Ability to travel between sites required.
