DirectViz Solutions, (DVS), is a rapidly growing government contractor that meets mission IT needs for government customers. We are hiring an IT Support Specialist. The work location will be Alexandria, VA.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
IT Specialists support activities associated with providing on-site Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT Support-like services for an individual business unit. IT Specialists work directly within an office and/or business unit. They provide initial computer support and then escalate to the Service Desk as required.
Support Requirements:
Provide user support in using desktop systems and applications
Support for end-user applications
Sharepoint site creation and management - managing permissions
Computing Systems and Peripherals
Migration of computing systems to new platforms
Administration of laptop computer and transferable media encryption compliance
Coordination, administration, and maintenance of electronic images for the staff
Software and Hardware repair, installations, hardware break/fix
Relocation of computing systems and peripherals or otherwise known as office moves. 1-2 customers at a time (large office moves may require additional resources)
Computing systems and peripherals, hardware/software acquisition support in compliance IT guidance provided
Installation, support for evolving computing environment
Email support and coordination:
Mailing lists, mail forwarding, user mail storage management, archiving
Assist with file transfer and other large data file movements to/from the computing environment and external sources/destinations.
Central copiers and printers support
Installation assistance
Repair escalation
Routine maintenance such as toner replacement
Interfacing network enabled copiers to NSF Central IT services
Installation/upkeep of printer drivers
Administrative support for photocopier set-up, diagnostic, and operational management features
Liaison with IT Service Desk and other organizations
Attend IT Specialist Meetings
Escalation of issues that need enterprise level support
Coordinate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 at IT Customer Support Center
Coordinate with Tier 3 resources on an as needed basis
Software licensing management compliance
As required, support software license management needs of the directorate
Support Incident reporting and response
Support vulnerability management
Provide standard configuration compliance
Support compliance with gov't policies regarding information security
IT systems inventory records management support
Provide support for use of electronic conferencing systems
Audio and video conferencing equipment scheduling, operations, maintenance, and upgrades
Virtual technology support
Provide system administration and management for local/specialized systems
Maintenance and security patching
Systems requirements assessment for lifecycle replacement, upgrade, and new business needs
Support Office/Directorate/Division special requirements: including support of staff presentations, publications, world-wide-web services, and information dissemination activities.
Electronic presentation preparation support, to include image manipulation, graphics
IT systems support to client sponsored meetings and conferences: program panel reviews; workshops; conferences; routine administrative meetings, etc.
Develop training materials and procedures to train users in the proper use of video and audio systems
Webmaster support
Requirements: Experience: HS w/ 17+ yrs. or BA/BS w/ 11+ yrs or MA/MS w/ 8+ yrs.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
Physical and Mental Qualifications: Be able to maintain awareness during scheduled working hours
Prolonged periods sitting or standing at desk and working on a computer (mouse and keyboard)
Able to lift up to 15 pounds
Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language
Execute tasks independently and work as a team
Learns and memories routine tasks
Strong organizational, grammar, business correspondence, and self-management skills
