JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for technically skilled candidates with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT Support Technician. The duties include working closely with the IT Manager, installing and maintaining computer systems and networks, as well as providing support for database administration and Solidworks PDM tasks as needed.
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, logging problems and documenting fixes.
Respond to requests for new or configured hardware or software and keep inventory up to date.
Track and monitor day-to-day performance of systems, and conduct analysis with the goal of improving
performance.
Install, update, and repair software on organization systems.
Base Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint sites, pages, and custom applications to facilitate collaboration and streamline business processes.
Configure SharePoint settings and services to meet business needs.
Collaborate with the IT Manager to integrate SharePoint with other applications and systems.
Assist with the end-user training, including building training documents, and interacting with employees to provide guidance with SharePoint related tasks.
Ensure database security and access control.
Perform cabling and desk setup.
Perform other duties as necessary and/or required.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED.
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to self-motivate and work without constant direction.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work in our Southern Maryland location.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with SQL Server database administration and development.
Knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems.
Knowledge of SharePoint architecture, design, and development.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to type, handle and feel. Employees must be able to communicate effectively through talking and listening. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, walk up flights of stairs; and reach and carry objects with hands and arms
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, more with assistance
Ability to traverse large manufacturing facility
