Description
Lifetime Windows and Siding is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This role requires a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), proficiency in accounting systems, and a strong motivation to contribute to an efficient monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting process. Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Close Process: Ensure the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end close is completed accurately and within the monthly close cycle. Review Balance Sheet reconciliations and P&L Statements.
Analysis and Commentary: Perform in-depth analysis of business income statements, providing commentary to management on business performance, trends, and profitability.
Journal Entries and Reconciliations: Review complex journal entries, including allocation entries, accruals, payroll, prepaid amortizations, and intercompany entries. Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and support daily cost accounting procedures to show accurate margins for jobs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with leaders and other departments to ensure accounting and reporting needs are met and improve financial reporting accuracy.
Training and Development: Assist in training and developing accounting staff to maintain a high level of employee commitment and competence.
Policy and Procedure Development: Help design, implement, maintain, and monitor accounting policies and procedures, including internal controls and process documentation.
Research and Recommendations: Research complex accounting scenarios and provide recommendations to management.
Project Management: Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver high-quality information to the leadership team.
Payroll and Tax Management: Post weekly and bi-weekly payroll journal entries into the financial system and assist with preparing schedules for monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax returns.
Special Projects: Assist with special projects as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
Experience: 5-10 years of accounting experience preferred, with prior supervisory experience a plus. Relevant industry experience in construction, distribution, or real estate is highly desirable.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and the ability to perform research as necessary. Experience with financial accounting systems and knowledge of multi-company organizations is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Must be detail-oriented and technically minded with strong research and reconciliation skills. Ability to perform in-depth analysis and provide actionable insights.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and develop team members.
Professionalism: Must be punctual, professional, and able to meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
