S CHEDULE: Upt to 40 hours/week, based on funding

Employees with 0-5 Years of Service = accrue 0.075 hours per hour worked
Employees with 5+ Years of Service = accrue 0.0875 hours per hour worked
Employees with 10+ Years of Service = accrue 0.10 hours per hour worked
Volunteer Time Off (VTO) : Available in the following amounts per calendar year:
Employees schedule to work 35-40 hours = 16 VTO hours
Employees schedule to work 25-34 hours = 12 VTO hours
Employees schedule to work 20-24 hours = 8 VTO hours
Holidays : 12 paid holidays

JOB SUMMARY: The Communications & Outreach Manager’s primary duties are increasing general awareness about BMAC through community engagement, annual activities, special events, social media, and traditional communication methods. Develops, implements and manages effective communications and outreach strategies to both inform and involve the community in the work of BMAC, with a focus on transparency and access to timely, accurate and understandable information about programs and services.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes, but is not limited to:
Responsible for implementing the CEO and Director’s strategic plans and priorities related to sharing BMAC’s story with clients, partners, volunteers, donors, and the public to increase engagement and retention.
Create and implement campaigns to achieve BMAC’s program goals, including through social media, the website, or direct mail.
Develop and maintain content on the BMAC website.
Support the team with collection and generation of content for use across channels, including curating success stories and testimonials and developing accompanying graphic design.
Write compelling content for various channels including social media, monthly newsletter, invitations, client outreach, and donor communications.
Manage promotional opportunities via digital, print, paid or earned media.
Advance BMAC’s public relations through newsletters, press releases, or other tools.
Manage technology for achieving communications goals, including the BMAC website, Bloomerang, Volgistics, Constant Contact, Canva and Adobe, project management software or similar tools.
Maintain and, when necessary, design and produce, BMAC’s collateral materials for all programs and manage the inventory of supplies.
Ensure messaging and brand consistency across BMAC assets.
Maintain and participate in a regular calendar of outreach events.
Track and report on data related to community engagement, including reporting on donor engagement, managing donor thank yous, and maintaining data accuracy.
Develop other communications materials as needed.
Facilitate engagement in English and Spanish.
Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and overseeing events:
Organize BMAC’s annual meeting for donors and the public.
Coordinate with Director of CEE on BMAC’s annual volunteer recognition event.
Represent BMAC at community outreach events.
Support any partner or BMAC fundraising events, including logistics and communications as requested by partner or BMAC CEO.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Relevant experience and/or education may be substituted for either education or work history.
Associate’s degree in a related field such as marketing, communications, English, or business; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Full Bilingual/Bicultural proficiency – English/Spanish, strongly preferred.

Experience implementing effective communications or marketing campaigns to diverse audiences using a wide range of channels including social media, websites, direct mail, and earned and free media.
Experience managing a website to enhance client and donor engagement.
Ability to manage complex projects on time and within given budgets.
Excellent verbal, written and multi-media communication skills.
Skilled in editing and design.
Demonstrated ability to organize and implement major events.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
Ability to learn/use Constant Contact, Adobe, Canva, Bloomerang, and Volgistics.
Ability to work collaboratively with BMAC staff, volunteers, Board members, and community partners.
Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge, and skills to deliver culturally competent customer service services and work effectively with diverse populations, including LGBTQ and people of color, as well as individuals of all ages and ability levels.
Flexible and able to work well and problem-solve both independently and as part of a team.
Creative and proficient at being able to develop new and original ideas in an artistic context.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, open office environment, managing multiple projects, with frequent interruptions.
Ability to understand all of BMAC’s programs and services, and ability to explain them to diverse audiences.
Certifications
Employee must provide their own vehicle for travel and current auto insurance.
Valid state driver’s license by time of hire with a good driving record. Mileage will be reimbursed according to the current IRS mileage rate.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally performed in an office environment. Requires local and some regional travel. Scheduling flexibility is required to accommodate evenings, weekends and unanticipated needs, on occasion. High degree of activity (errands, set-up, etc.) required around events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the job's essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.
Work is primarily performed in an office setting. This position will be involved in setting up booths, tables, visual aids, etc., for meetings and events.
Mixture of sedentary periods at desk/working on a computer and light physical work, with times of more strenuous work.
Must be able to move 40 pounds occasionally, and up to 15 pounds frequently.
