NextRNAs laboratory activities are growing rapidly, and we are seeking a Laboratory Operations Associate to join our team. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Operations and will be responsible for various laboratory activities and Compound Management.
The Opportunity:
Laboratory:
Responsible for receiving, storage and distribution of all reagents, supplies, consumables, equipment, and any other inventory item(s) related to the operation of the laboratory.
Ensures that laboratory staff are aware of goods received and their proper storage, coordinates distribution of supplies within the laboratory on daily basis.
Maintains an efficient system of inventory control to ensure there are proper levels of supplies in the laboratory available for use
Maintains the cell line inventory, assists with cell authentication and mycoplasma testing
Manages the daily shipping requests ensuring timely delivery of critical samples and equipment.
Assists in ensuring the safe and proper use of laboratory equipment & facilities, ensuring appropriate maintenance and calibration of laboratory & facility equipment and systems.
Assists in maintaining our equipment and ensures records are up-to-date and accurate for equipment.
Assists in scheduling visits from equipment service providers/vendors, hosts and works with them to complete equipment maintenance or repair.
Assists the emergency response team as needed
Compound Management:
Ensures all samples and storage containers are labeled clearly
Ensures appropriate storage conditions for all incoming samples
Assist in providing samples from compound inventory to various collaborating groups as requested.
Accurately logging samples into the laboratory system
About you:
Associate's degree with 1+ year of laboratory experience (preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting; academic experience also considered). A BS/BA degree in physical or life sciences is preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to follow specific instructions and written protocols
Ability to multi-task, work independently and within a team, identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision
Maintain precise records, adhere to safety protocols, and meet deadlines effectively
