Accounting Manager

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - 2x onsite per week)
Ultra Intelligence and Communications (I&C) is seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager to lead our dynamic team based in Austin, TX. This pivotal role encompasses the management of accounting functions for the business unit while providing essential support to corporate accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, particularly within defense or highly regulated industries. Responsibilities:
Direct oversight of Accounting and Cash activities for the Business Unit and Enterprise, including but not limited to payables, receivables, billings, G/L accounting, payroll, and timecard processing.
Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and meticulous preparation of financial statements.
Manage and mentor a dedicated team of 2-3 accounting professionals.
Reconcile various general ledger accounts and collaborate closely with the Sr. Director Finance for comprehensive review.
Provide valuable inputs and data to facilitate the analysis of variances from budgets and forecasts.
Supervise internal reporting to the Deltek Costpoint ERP system, ensuring meticulous consolidation and delivery of data to senior management and Ultra.
Uphold strict adherence to internal control policies and procedures in alignment with Ultra company policy.
Drive continuous improvement by enhancing, developing, implementing, and enforcing organizational policies and procedures through effective systems.
Offer technical financial advice and guidance as required.
Execute special projects as directed by the Sr. Director Finance.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with at least 2 years of management experience.
Knowledge of DCAA and government contractor accounting principles is highly advantageous.
This position requires a US Person or non-US Person authorized to obtain required export authorization.
Desired Skills:
Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now & Payroll Total Comp Services
Prior experience with Deltek Costpoint.
Exhibits exemplary professional behavior, including leadership, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, creative thinking, and personal integrity.
Familiarity with a range of computer-based accounting software and MS Office products.
CPA certification is preferred.
