Research Analyst

The Research Analyst will support Aledade business goals with analyses that leverage rich data sources including national Medicare claims, other payer claims, electronic health records, and event notification data. They will work cross-functionally with partners across the product organization to surface insights on program performance and support recommendations for improvement.

This position will support Medicare Advantage risk assessment work including data quality and standardization across payers, base table design, maintenance and refresh, risk score calculations, profiling, chronic condition tracking and ad-hoc analyses. The successful candidate has strong analytical skills, intermediate to advanced SQL with preferred intermediate SAS, and a good handle on data quality validation.

Primary Duties:

Understand the problem space: Work with teams across Aledade and external partners to understand and clarify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.

Assist in analysis execution: Design descriptive statistical analyses to answer key business questions.

Design and program code to integrate, evaluate, and analyze diverse data sources.

Perform data analysis and statistical modeling to generate actionable insights and solutions.

Assist in communicating analysis results: Assist in working across teams at Aledade to identify implications of analysis results and translate findings into action.

Develop analytic products that accurately communicate insights from the data and inspire action.

Work closely with engineering and other product partners to enable analytic solutions.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Excellent quantitative analysis abilities, with a background in economics, business, health services, statistics, or related field

Ability to perform advanced analytical activities from gathering and clarifying business requirements and goals to defining, measuring, and communicating core operational metrics and providing insight to business partners

Experience accessing, transforming and summarizing data using SQL queries (intermediate to advanced) and SAS programs (intermediate).

Demonstrated ability to conduct nuanced analyses to produce accurate and unbiased results and tell the story of those results in data visualizations, presentations, and reports.

Attention to detail, particularly with version control (e.g. Git), data quality, documentation, and building repeatable processes

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines and priorities.

Values people with differing backgrounds and perspectives; supports effective interpersonal and intercultural engagement

Committed to serving teammates and patients with empathy and respect

Ability to manage complex analytics through the entire life cycle, from design through implementation, automation/productionalization and documentation

Preferred familiarity with Medicare Advantage Risk program and experience with healthcare data (claims, utilization, cost, quality, and related outcomes)
