We are currently seeking applications to fill the following job opening at Celgard where we develop and manufacture membrane battery separators that are critical components used in lithium-ion batteries for electric drive vehicles (EDVs) and energy storage systems (ESS).

Job Description:
The Product Lead will be the main coordinator for Celgard® S1810 for PPES, which will grow to become the single largest product in the portfolio by FY2025. The incumbent will be the primary point of contact for Sales; responsible for facilitating the flow of information between the field (Sales, Customer, Competition) and Headquarters (HQ).
Responsibilities include the following:
Coordinate all quality, equipment qualification and cost reduction programs for Celgard® S1810. Build schedules and PDCA lists to make sure projects are on track and clear ownership is identified.
Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement teams. Lead and execute improvement projects that potentially affect product quality. Coordinate projects associated with qualification of alternate raw materials (resins).
Constantly monitor supply/demand situation and channel information between customer facing organization and HQ when significant changes happen.
Function as contact point for scale-up matters related to the start of the four PPES HEV lines at the Toyota facility in Greensboro, NC.
Work with other Quality Engineers on the 8D process/customer complaints as they occur. Utilize problem solving/troubleshooting tools to identify root cause of issues and implement correction/preventative action items in conjunction with the Quality Team. Preview monthly report back to PPES on contamination checks with Contamination Specialist.
Interact with Operations/Quality during development/review/updates of Product and Delivery Specs.
Coordinate packaging projects at the different manufacturing sites with support from Sourcing and the local Quality/Operations teams.
Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in Engineering or a related function such as Quality or Program Management required.
Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Engineering or other applicable area preferred.
Six Sigma Green Belt a plus.
Must possesses the ability to establish metrics to manage the project portfolio associated with this product.
Must be able to operate in the global marketplace across different time-zones to work with internal regional heads and customer representatives.
Must be a strong team player and possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence across organizations and leadership levels.
Able to work independently under limited supervision, ability to work through others without direct reporting lines, required.
Experience with SPC software such as Minitab strongly preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills required.
Some travel required.
