Job Summary Jacksonville University invites applicants for a faculty position in the Keigwin Schoolof Nursing. This is a tenure track, full time, 12-month position. The expected startdate is January 1,2025. Particular expertise in Medical-Surgical or Critical Carenursing is required. Nursing faculty develop, revise, and teach curriculum (includingclinical instruction), serve on department, college or university committees, areassigned special projects, perform university service, chair student projects andadvise students academically. They also participate in nursing scholarship includingclinical practice, research/QI projects, presentations and/or publications.
Supervisory Responsibilities None.
Duties/Responsibilities Teaching will include graduate and undergraduate students in ground-based, online,and hybrid models.
Teaching also extends into the skills lab environment and clinical site visits.
Primary areas of instruction include medical -surgical critical care nursing, pathophysiologyand advanced practice nursing.
Scholarship to include clinical practice, attendance at professional meetings andchairing of UG research and/or doctoral projects.
University service to include committee membership, special projects, community activities,mentoring, attendance and support for university events.
Consistently seek improvement in curriculum offerings.
Advocate and promote student involvement in DolphiNurse alumni organization.
Other duties as deemed necessary.

Highly organized with attention to detail.
Able to clearly prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Dedicated to service and a strong university presence.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
Doctorate in Nursing (PhD or DNP) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
Minimum 5 years previous nursing experience.
Minimum 1 year previous administrative/leadership experience.
Minimum 3 years previous didactic and clinical teaching experience.
Eligibility to practice nursing in the state of Florida.
Process Improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
Physical Requirements Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens.
Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
