Technology Manager

Position Summary

As a Technology Manager, you will be pivotal in our organization's technology infrastructure and strategy. Reporting to the Network Director of Data Systems, you will lead the technology team in implementing and managing systems and processes that support our business operations. You will collaborate with various departments to understand their technology needs and provide innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Essential Responsibilities:

Technology Infrastructure Management:

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, and systems.

Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of all technology systems.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Software and Application Management:

Evaluate, select, and implement software and applications that align with the organization's needs and goals.

Manage software licenses, updates, and patches to ensure compliance and security.

Provide staff training and support on using technology tools and applications.

Data Management and Security:

Develop and enforce data management policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.

Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.

Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

Technology Strategy and Planning:

Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that supports the organization's strategic objectives.

Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends and assess their potential impact on the organization.

Develop business cases and recommendations for technology investments and initiatives.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of products and services.

Obtain bids for various technology purchases and maintain the leases.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their technology needs and priorities and advocate for solutions that meet them.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

2 years of experience in technology management or a similar role.

Strong technical expertise in network infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and database management.

Proven track record of successfully implementing technology solutions that drive business value and innovation.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs.

Familiarity utilizing, managing, and leveraging information systems.

Experience working on a cross-functional team / with multiple stakeholders.

Must be willing and able to attend evening events periodically as requested by your leadership.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Completion and pass pre-employment Fingerprinting and Reference check process.

Legally eligible to work in the United States

Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

2 years of experience in technology management or a similar role in an urban charter school network or non-profit organization.

Familiarity utilizing, managing, and leveraging student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool) and data housing platforms (e.g., iReady, Illuminate, Clever).

Familiarity with remote learning systems (e.g., Google Classroom).

Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, ITIL)

Capacity to develop strong relationships based on trust, respect, effective communication, and common goals.

Work Environment/Physical Effort:

Work is being performed in a traditional multi-floor school environment with limited to no elevator access.

Compensation:

Amber Charter Schools strictly follow a salary schedule for each role to ensure our continued commitment to pay equity. The expected salary range for this role is $80,000- $91,789, depending on verified relevant work experience, the highest level of completed education, and the required certifications and/or licenses for the role. This is an exempt position.
