Job Description Job Description Basic Purpose
The Plant Manager will direct all operational activities for a distribution facility, such as supervising warehouse and driver staff, facility layout and project management, strategic planning and fleet management. The Facility Manager will also manage regulatory and permit issues, dispatching, receiving, and the storing and handling of materials to meet customer requirements.
Position Responsibilities
Direct operational activities for a distribution facility, such as supervising warehouse and driver staff, facility layout and project management, strategic planning and fleet management.
Ensuring health and safety is prioritized by following policies and procedures and supporting safe operations.
Working under the direction of the Sr. Manager Logistics, provides leadership and guidance to the site.
Manages supervisors and the day-to-day operations in the distribution, production, and transportation scheduling of this facility.
Providing direction to and leading employees in a fast paced, high volume work environment.
Maintaining legal, governmental and company environmental records according to standard; ensuring that employees follow and maintain safety, health and environmental operating procedures and standards.
Providing data for or generates reports as requested.
Manages regulatory and permit issues
Adhering to all Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as any additional plant specific environmental management system requirements.
Meet customer requirements by providing oversight and managing of dispatch, receiving, storing and handling of materials.
Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience & Skills)
Bachelor’s Degree
A combination of education and experience will be considered
3-5 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution, and transportation
Lean experience a plus
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point); SAP experience is a plus
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Solid leadership skills and background
Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
