Addison Group is seeking an experienced Auditor for our client located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is a great contract-to-hire job opportunity for someone with a bachelor’s degree, general ledger experience, and familiarity working with contracts. This Auditor position pays up to $32 per hour depending on applicable experience.
Responsibilities:
· Examine accounting records, reports, operating practices, and documentation to ensure compliance with internal control procedures
· Compare items to documentation to verify assets and liabilities
· Document audit tests and findings in work papers
· Complete audit questionnaires to assess the adequacy of internal control systems
· Update audit programs and questionnaires, and recommend new policies and procedures to maintain internal control systems
· Use accepted accounting and statistical methods to analyze and verify financial statements and other records, and assess financial condition
· Inspect cash on hand, notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and canceled checks to confirm records are accurate
· Examine inventory to verify journal and ledger entries
· Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, and recommend controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity
· Prepare detailed audit reports that highlight findings, recommendations, and opportunities for process improvements
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree
· Strong Excel skills
· Previous work experience with General Ledger
· Experience with Audits (internal and/or external)
