GigXR is seeking a UX/UI designer to help us create groundbreaking user interfaces for our suite of XR applications.

GigXR provides applications using the Microsoft Hololens, Meta Quest, iOS and Android applications as part of our application delivery platform that delivers a growing catalog of powerful interactive XR applications and related content for medical teaching and training that can be accessed on multiple devices.

GigXRs current customers are medical and nursing schools, hospitals and universities. GigXR currently has partnerships with leading institutions, including Cambridge University Hospitals, Northwest Permanente and University of Michigan to build cutting edge medical training scenarios in mixed reality.

Position

The role of the UX/UI designer is to produce cutting edge interfaces in both 3D and 2D environments. A successful applicant will have a strong background in the application of user experience best practices and be able to adapt those principles to the fast changing realm of XR applications.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct testing of sample applications, websites and software to assess user experience and ease of design

Use recent studies and findings to establish the best overall design elements to include in UX design experiences

Build storyboards to conceptualize designs to accurately convey project plans to clients and senior management

Assist in the definition and creation of a UI style guide and help ensure it is utilized across all GigXR applications.

Create surveys for research through various media platforms to gather feedback on user's ease of use and satisfaction interfacing on company websites and products

Work with sales, customer support and product teams to integrate user feedback into design for ongoing improvements.

Enhance user experience by creating seamless navigation through various digital programs and interfaces within the company

Collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers and product managers to help define priorities; wireframing concepts and mockups; scheduling the development of solutions with developers.

Combine interface design concepts with digital design and establish milestones to encourage cooperation and teamwork

Technical Skills/Qualifications

5+ years experience as a UX/UI Designer.

Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a relevant subject such as Graphic Design, Game Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related or similar field.

Deep understanding of the UX principles and its application in web and mobile devices.

Experience designing assets for mobile platforms (Android, iOS and desktop).

Resourcefulness, diligence, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills.

Experience with, or willingness to rapidly learn design using Figma.

Nice-to-have Skills

Experience with UI/UX design for XR headsets.

Experience working with Unity or Unreal gaming engines.

Knowledge of Figma, Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and XD, or equivalent pipeline

Experience with versioning tools like Git, Sourcetree etc.

Experience with 3D software such as Maya or 3Ds Max.

Experience with prototyping in 3D with tools like Microsoft Maquette or Tvori

Other Requirements

Great communication and collaboration skills.

Experience working closely with development teams.

Self-motivated, proactive, and able to utilize time allotted efficiently.
