The Junior System Security Administrator is responsible for oversight and maintenance of the organization's existing security systems, such as anti-virus and network/device protection. Responsibilities include monitoring security threats, making system improvement recommendations, conducting security training, and providing technical support across all levels of the organization, escalating issues when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage anti-virus software daily, coordinate with the team to address threats.
Handle daily operations of EDR systems, investigate violations.
Use network security software to limit unnecessary access.
Coordinate and conduct annual penetration tests.
Stay informed on global security trends, advise the organization on identifying, avoiding, and mitigating new threats.
Develop and conduct user security training programs.
Manage dark web monitoring platforms, address any discovered compromises.
Conduct phishing simulations and quarterly rollouts.
Manage Barracuda and O365 email security policies, establish best practices to minimize threats and phishing attempts.
Collaborate with the network team to ensure security protocols are in place and followed.
Act as the point of contact for physical security, alarm systems, and door access systems.
Oversee the security camera system at the corporate office.
Assist the data team with file-level security and auditing using Stealthbits management software.
Participate in projects and provide support escalation and telephony/mobility management as bandwidth permits.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to swiftly assess reported issues and determine effective solutions.
Prior experience in information technology or systems administration.
Familiarity with common software products and operating systems, including telephone and office software, is a plus.
Knowledge of endpoint security, mobile device management, and Office 365 security is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
