About the Role
The Company is seeking to establish its inaugural Board of Directors, with a focus on incorporating a diverse group of individuals with extensive knowledge and experience in finance, philanthropy, impact investing, climate science, and data/tech. The Board will play a crucial role in providing strategic leadership, approving and aligning with the organization's vision, and promoting connections with funders, stakeholders, and partners. Responsibilities include ensuring legal and financial compliance, risk mitigation, and representing the organization at public events. Board members are expected to commit their time to the company's ambitious goals, including a minimum of four meetings per year and being available for decision-making outside of meetings. The initial appointment is for a 3-year term, with the possibility of re-election for one additional term.Ideal candidates for the Board of Directors should have a strong background in the aforementioned areas and a commitment to the values and mission of the company. They must act with honor and integrity, uphold the organization's values, and be prepared to contribute to its success. The company is particularly interested in individuals with experience in organizational development, best practice governance, legal and compliance, and business acumen. The role requires a dedication to the company's vision of driving climate action through the financial sector and a proactive approach to addressing the key barriers to aligning financial decisions with climate needs. The successful candidates will be expected to engage in high-level speaking engagements and events and to support the organization's work through their expertise and networks.
