Title: Mental Health Specialist - VSSR

Reports to: Lead Social Worker - VSSR

Dept: Housing

Location: 401 Van Ness Avenue, Suite 310, San Francisco CA 94102. This position requires periodic travel between permanent supportive housing sites and programs.

Note: travel between sites is reimbursable.

Work schedule: M-F (8am - 4pm)

Salary: $38.46 (non-exempt)

Summary: Under the direction and support of the Lead Social Worker for Veterans Support to Self- Reliance (VSSR), the Mental Health Specialist oversees the collection, maintenance and transmittal of programmatic data. VSSR operates across our six permanent supportive housing sites and serves between 100 and 125 veterans. Note: this number is set to [increase] over the next couple of years - particularly as our veterans begin to age in place.

Safe Haven (Transitional Program)

Stanford Hotel

Edwin M. Lee Apartments

Maceo May Apartments

John W. Paulson Community Center

Requirements:

Must possess a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, counseling, or a related field. This includes (but is not limited to) psychology and social work.

Experience working with hard-to-serve populations, i.e., those suffering from serious mental illness [and] substance use disorder.

Familiarity with local social services.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excell and Salesforce (electronic medical record).

Can operate a printer and scanner.

Has strong written and communication skills.

Needs to be a self-starter. Note: this position requires significant autonomy.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the collection, maintenance and transmittal of programmatic information and data.

Assist with ongoing assessments. This includes weekly, quarterly [and] annual assessments.

Create, maintain and monitor onsite hard files. Note: hard files must comply with STP, CalVet and HIPAA mandates.

Participate in outreach activities, i.e., attending informational sessions and program sign ups.

Work with partnering agencies (VA and CalVet) on program goals and objectives.

Meet with program enrollees - when feasible - for group activities.

Work with program auditors onsite and offsite.

Salary & Benefits

Starting salary $80,000
