What You Will Do
The Information Systems Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, acquisition, installation, modification and support of operating systems, databases, utilities, virtualization and cloud environments and internet/intranet-related tools. They will conduct systems programming and systems support activities such as installing new or revised system or application software. They will also maintain and update systems software such as backup scripts, logon procedures and other operations tools. The Engineer will support the Help Desk team in problem resolution and when appropriate to support end users in systems support.
Create users, groups and delegate roles in Active Directory. Set file share permission and security settings.
Create AWS and Azure virtual machines and workspaces.
Create virtual machines on VMWare and Hyper-V, manage resources, migrate VMs, understand statistics and perform troubleshooting.
Monitor and execute data backup tasks.
Review reports to determine the best course of action to prevent or maintain system security and integrity.
Manage users and groups in Google admin console
Restore Google data
Perform installation and basic configuration of hardware (server, storage, tape library, printer, UPS)
Basic installation and configuration of Windows Server, perform patching and troubleshooting, and utilize basic power shell commands.
Monitor the systems using monitoring tools
Basic knowledge of single sign on such as Okta
What Skills and Experience You Should Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years technical hands-on experience in a corporate IT department
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people /audiences. Comfortable pitching the product vision and project mission to stakeholders from varying backgrounds, often at senior levels in the organization.
Comfortable engaging in constructive negotiation with Product and Project Managers, anticipating possible objections, to resolve conflicting goals and interests.
