Description
Community Care College is searching for a Surgical Technologist Instructor Substitute! Must have a current Certified Surgical Technologist License with a minimum of three years of scrub experience. Associates Degree preferred. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with above-average computer skills and the ability to establish and maintain hospital relations. Excellent Surgical Technology Instructors are committed to education and passionate about the field.
ST Instructors will provide quality classroom and lab instruction for students, ensuring they gain the knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment in their chosen field. Substitute, As Needed, potentially Monday through Friday days. Licensed by OBPVS.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of students
Stay updated on current trends in healthcare, including HIPPA, OSHA, Blood born pathogens, and any other affecting Surgical Techs
Evaluate the students' clinical ability in accordance with the program's established criteria
Maintain current knowledge of the program's objectives and standards and participate in the evaluation of the program's effectiveness
Maintain student attendance records
Student Tutoring - One-on-one when the need arises
Prepare lecture material in advance; know exactly what you are going to say to the students
Include all curriculum in lecture, and ensure the students know what to study for exams
Clean and organize classroom and lab after each use
Ensure consistency with ST team members when teaching lab skills

Education & Experience: CST license
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program with a current Certified Surgical Technology certification
Associates Degree preferred
Minimum of three years of field experience as a scrub tech
Experience in adult education and development a plus
