Fort Bend Christian Academy is accepting applications for Head of School . The applicant must be a born-again Christian, active in a Bible-believing church. His/her daily walk must reflect a lifestyle that is in accordance with God's Word. This individual must possess a postgraduate degree in the field of Education Administration and preference would be to possess or be working toward, a doctoral degree in educational administration or related field and should have at least five years of experience in academic administration. This individual must be able to make final administrative decisions and at the same time be able to delegate responsibility to those under his/her leadership. This individual must be able to consider all aspects of a question with calm deliberation and work within the school board's framework and policies.

Job Duties: The Head of School shall:

Administer the school system's philosophy.

Administer a yearly budget for the school system.

Review and update the existing or new curriculum.

Recruit and employ capable faculty and staff members, receiving recommendations from school administrative and management staff. Continually update and revise the roles and responsibilities of campus principals, officers, and departments as needed so that they are clearly stated and understood.

Maintain the school system's accreditation status. Pursue further accreditation and/or endorsements as deemed prudent and beneficial.

Coordinate all programs of Elementary, Middle and Upper Schools, meeting with principals individually and as a group routinely.

Ensure that all official personnel records for faculty and staff are secure.

Maintain a strong, fair, disciplinary structure within the school system.

Plan and provide effective in-service programs for faculty and staff in the school system.

Direct the administration of an effective, responsive admissions program for the school system ensuring the understanding and agreement with the Declaration of Values of the school.

Supervise the administration of programs extracurricular activities, including clubs, athletics, fine arts and social functions of the school system.

Maintain a planned system of health services within the school system.

Oversee maintenance of up-to-date attendance records and permanent record files for students within the school system.

Approve scheduling for all three divisions of the school system.

Plan a program with a spiritual emphasis.

Supervise the development and editing of special publications produced by the school system, including emergency procedures, handbooks, yearbooks, students' newspapers, and student-produced literary magazines.

Supervise Director of Finance to ensure proper controls are in place.

Approve travel programs that are reasonable and which enhance the curriculum of the school.

Supervise the Director of Development in administering effective fund-raising projects for FBCA.

Approve the selection of textbooks to be used in the school system.

Maintain an effective relationship with the School Board.

Prioritize building relationships with the community to nurture their talents and foster a culture of lifelong learning.

Build relationships with the Sugar Land and Fort Bend County communities.

Maintain FBCA's current level of achievements, while continuing to push forward to achieve even greater excellence in all areas of our school system.

Define and regularly update the strategic plan for the school.

Provide effective stewardship of financial aid resources.

Be a part of the leadership of the capital campaign. Be actively involved with major donor cultivation and solicitation.

Be conversant with electronic and instructional technology, thus providing informed leadership for this important agenda.
