Th e Director of Risk Management i s responsible for identifying, evaluating, and analyzing risks inherent to the operations of the organization. The Director will formulate, implement, administer, and evaluate enterprise risk management strategies to efficiently and cost-effectively manage risks. This position is also responsible for educating, advising, and counseling management and staff on risk avoidance or transfer risks. The Director of Risk Management must remain informed of the dynamic changes that occur within our industry and make recommendations based on those changes.
Responsibilities
How You Can Make a Real Impact: Design and manage an enterprise risk management (" ERM ") program and develop ancillary policies and procedures appropriate for managing risks in an organization that provides services to people with developmental disabilities and neurological challenges . Develop corrective measures for identified ERM risks and implement early warning systems to identify areas of potential exposure.
Conduct quality reviews of continuous quality improvement (" CQI ") team investigations and audit specialists reports and plans of corrections.
Manage all aspects of litigation including discovery requests. Coordinate request for records and information and coordinate activities with the organization's insurance carriers and attorneys.
Work with the Chief Legal Officer and outside counsel on the appropriate resolution of all litigation including, but not limited to, EPL, GL, PL, and Auto cases and provide quarterly reports to senior management on all outstanding litigation (i.e., liability report).
Attend legal and regulatory hearings, grievances, and other meetings including, but not limited, to individualized educational planning meetings.
Develop and implement root cause analysis (" RCA ") policy and protocols that include, without limitation, the Director of Risk Management leading all RCAs.
Oversee the development and completion of risk management assessments. Manage corrective action plans, audits, and compliance with organizational risk initiatives.
Develop and implement documents and reports analyzing risk management data and trends and opportunities to improve service delivery and workflow processes.
Develop, implement, and monitor OSHA compliance standards throughout the organization.
Ensure the organization and its programs and services operate in compliance with all payor and state regulations and guidelines including, but not limited to, the New Jersey Department of Human Services (" DHS "), Division of Developmental Disabilities (" DDD "), and the Division of Children and Families (" DCF ") and other applicable payor and state agencies in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Communicate with and advise program leaders on various regulations (i.e., Kominos law, guardianships) and stay abreast of emerging rules, guidelines, and regulations.
Lead the Camera Governance Committee and Visitor Code of Conduct Reviews and develop and implement best practices and appropriate policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education: Master's Degree, Juris Doctor, or equivalent work experience in risk management, behavioral health, healthcare, social services, or a related field.
Experience:
At least five (5) years of work experience in risk management, behavioral health, healthcare, social services, or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws, insurance programs, and risk management. C ertification by Associate in Risk Management ("ARM") or Certified Risk Manager (" CRM ") is preferred.
