This position will be located at GPC Headquarters in Atlanta, GA
PLEASE NOTE This posting serves to fill multiple Project Coordinator positions within the group. We are open to considering all levels of experience, provided you meet the basic qualifications as outlined below.
JOB SUMMARY
The Distributed Generation (“DG”) Project Coordinator facilitates the interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) including DG Request for Proposals (RFP), Customer-Sited programs, and Qualifying Facilities (QF).
This role is responsible for the collaborative development, implementation and management of DG programs and managing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and/or Interconnection Agreements (IAs). This position works with large and diverse teams across various departments within GPC and externally to successfully implement DG projects from initial customer contact through interconnection, billing, until final commercial operation.
The DG Team currently has a hybrid work schedule and works in the office (241 Ralph McGill) weekly on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a project manager and primary interface for Power Purchase Agreements and/or Interconnection Agreements to ensure customers or third-party developers maintain requirements necessary to fulfill PPA & IA obligations and internal departments respond promptly so that projects meet required contractual and construction obligations.
Serve as a project manager and primary interface for customer programs and Interconnection Agreements (IAs) to ensure third-party installers maintain requirements necessary to fulfill IA obligations and
Serve as liaison with internal departments to ensure a prompt response so that projects meet required contractual and construction obligations.
Serve as a project manager and primary interface for DG programs to ensure internal and external stakeholders meet requirements to fulfill contractual and construction obligations.
Effectively communicate routine updates of project schedules, costs, and other matters to customers/developers, internal partners, and management. Solve complex problems regarding DG program participation, contracting, and interconnection.
Ensure high quality of work, attention to detail, and high level of external effectiveness. Provide input on quality control and process improvements, program enhancements, workflow management tools, etc.
Assist DG team leadership with general support of renewable programs including accurately tracking projects and spend, assisting with program communication, preparing documents, updating processes and more.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
4-year accredited BS/BA Degree OR direct experience with project coordination and customer interaction
Additional consideration given for master’s degree and/or relevant industry certifications (PE, CEM, PMP, etc.)
Experience:
Prior experience in project management, leading project teams, working directly with customers, contract administration and/or economic evaluations preferred.
Customer service, metering, project management, distribution policies, renewable development, and regulatory compliance
Power delivery systems, distribution/transmission design requirements, practices, and procedures
Experience in the areas of Renewable Development, regulatory programs, working directly with customers, Power Delivery, and Generation preferred.
Various company information tools (CSS, CIT, DistView, JETS, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proven or demonstrated leadership, effective communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues and prioritize work effectively.
Ability to learn interconnection policies, program guidelines, and IA/PPA documentation for proper execution and administration of program requirements.
Experience managing multiple projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and effectively interacting with external and internal stakeholders.
Effective at building and leveraging internal and cross-functional relationships to achieve goals.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position can require some travel – approximately 25% per year.
This will include some overnight travel and will be primarily within the Southern Company operating territory (AL, GA, MS)
