Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is inviting applications for a permanent research position in the field of quantum algorithms and applications. The successful candidate will be pursuing a graduate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with a broad focus on quantum information processing and related fields. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work from FRA’s Santa Clara office.
Job responsibilities:
Develop novel quantum algorithms with the aim towards publishing the work in reputed scientific journals, conferences, and/ or workshops.
Participate in quantum computing events and proselytize Fujitsu's quantum activities.
Demonstrate the application of your quantum algorithms in one or more of the following fields: finance, machine learning, optimization, quantum chemistry, and quantum simulations.
Collaborate internally with FRA researchers and help them by contributing to the quantum computing stack of Fujitsu.
Essential requirements:
PhD in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
Strong publication record demonstrated by accepted or published research papers in high quality conferences and/ or journals.
At least two years of research experience working in quantum information with a keen interest in designing fault-tolerant quantum computing algorithms.
Fujitsu salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each situation. The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $109,620.00 to $156,600.00 USD. Additionally, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
