A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 5-6 years of experience in the Labor and Employment Practice. The candidate will primarily provide advice and counseling and policy drafting services to firm clients. The ideal candidate should have a particular interest in compliance and counseling, with strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills. Significant counseling and meaningful litigation experience, along with a substantive background in wage and hour law, are necessary. Strong academic credentials and membership in the California State Bar are required for this position.
Duties:
Provide legal advice and counseling to clients on various labor and employment law matters
Draft employment policies, handbooks, and other related documents
Conduct legal research and analysis on complex labor and employment issues
Assist clients in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Represent clients in labor and employment-related litigation, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination claims, and wrongful termination cases
Prepare pleadings, motions, and other court filings
Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes
Stay updated on developments in labor and employment law and provide training to clients and colleagues as needed
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Membership in the California State Bar
5-6 years of experience in the Labor and Employment Practice
Strong interest in compliance and counseling
Excellent interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills
Keen attention to detail
Proactive attitude and initiative to take ownership over work and career
Substantive background in wage and hour law
Demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of work and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with clients in a variety of industries
Familiarity with employment-related litigation procedures and strategies
Knowledge of California employment laws and regulations
