SENIOR ELECTRICAL RELIABILITY ENGINEER
Element Science, Inc. is a medical device and digital health company focused on developing solutions at the intersection of clinical-grade wearables, machine learning algorithms, and lifesaving therapies in order to address leading causes of death and hospitalization in patients with heart disease, primarily as they transition from the hospital-to-home. By putting the needs of patients and physicians first, our personalized digital devices, which are designed for function, comfort, and ease-of-use, aim to redefine the paradigm of care for these patients. Our first product, a wearable patch defibrillator, is initially targeted at treating the more than 500,000 patients in the US with an elevated temporary risk of potentially experiencing a lethal heart rhythm. SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer strives to ensure PCBAs, subassemblies, and final products fulfill their intended function without failure. This position serves as a subject matter expert in the resolution of failures encountered in testing, production, and in the field.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess the reliability of PCBAs, subassemblies, and final products for their intended function.
Perform failure analysis and propose corrective action for issues encountered in testing, production, and in the field.
Participate in design for reliability reviews to identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.
Analyze production and field data to drive reliability improvements.
Provide mentorship to team members.
Continuously improve engineering practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency in reliability assessment methodologies including HALT, HASS, ESS.
Expertise in failure analysis from system level down to component level through analysis of hardware schematics and layout.
Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly process.
Familiarity with lab equipment including oscilloscope, power supply, loads, signal generator, multimeter.
Well-versed in risk management tools including Hazard Analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA.
Soldering/Assembly skills a plus.

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.
Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000
