A DC Government Agency is seeking a on-site Auditor to support Building Usage Audits of schools. The Audit team has multiple audits that require additional staffing to be able to access multiple sites within a short period of time, for the purpose of identifying risks related to Building Usage Agreements. The contracted position will support audit surveys and investigations of ongoing work and implementation of open recommendations. During the contractual period the contractor will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week. The Period of performance is May 2024 - September 2024 and candidates must have reliable transportation.

What You'll Do:Conduct school visits to identify entities that are currently occupying space on the school's premises. Research, identification and review of applicable policy/regulation(s)Identification and attainment of evidence (e.g. social media information)Interview of relevant parties (including students/staff)Fact-finding analysis/relevancy, credibility assessmentLiaise with team members, general counsel, and other DCPS teams to support workReceive feedback, incorporate feedback and edit reportsFacilitate implementation of corrective actionsThe Director and/or Manager, Internal Audit, will assign priorities to the contractor and make every attempt to provide advance notice of new assignments. Reasonable time frames for agreed upon tasks will be provided. Critical tasks shall be discussed weekly, and the timeline shall be agreed upon by the contractor and Director/Manager.
Job Requirements:The contractor shall meet with the Director and Manager, Internal Audit, within one (1) working day after issuance of the contract to begin professional services in support of the audit team work stream and DCPS operations.The contractor will be required to establish suitable processes and systems to guarantee the most regimented organization of resources involved in the support of the audit team project tracking and knowledge management. Complete documentation of processes and work is required to be maintained in a work plan.The contractor shall be accessible during core working hours and shall participate in Audit team meetings upon request.The contractor shall utilize the data system to document all audit activities in accordance with SOPs.The contractor is an impartial investigator, and they must understand and employ confidentiality standards as appropriate.The contractor shall seek support from the Director or Manager as necessary.The contractor must be able to travel varying local DCPS school sites via personal vehicle use.A solid understanding of the auditing process, investigation legislation, federal/state policy, and compliance is necessary for this position.
