Position Summary
The Senior Tax Manager assists and supports team members in performing Real Estate and/or Business Personal Property assessment reviews for DMA clients, to achieve maximum tax savings and provide other state and local tax consulting services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Utilize DMA templates and valuation models for property valuation, fixed asset reconciliation and reclassification to determine client's prior reporting methodologies for property tax returns, identify exemptions and abatement opportunities for tax savings.
Attend on-site inspection of client property (plants and operations)
Prepares reports and analyses supporting DMA's position for exemptions with State and Local taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Reports of Findings and other general correspondence to clients
Provide support for leadership in the assessment review process, including representing clients during appeals and personal property tax audit hearings with State and Local taxing authorities
Account management responsibilities for assigned clients within a specific region. Responsible for communication and deliverables to your respective clients.
Provide leadership, direction, and training to associate team members and review their work
Participate in the talent acquisition process for the for the team to add top talent
Active participation in business development activities - including identifying, scoping, and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients, as well as meeting with potential prospects; ability to cross sell other DMA service lines to prospects
Assist in production and invoicing process
Research and follow industry or market activity/trends in assigned geographic area
Research and follow state and local tax issues, legislation, court cases, etc.

Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field
7+ years professional experience; property tax, valuation, or accounting preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated problem-solving skills
Organizational, research, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines
Valid driver's license
Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Travel as required (approximately 20-30%)
