Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is a core member of the estimating and project management teams. You will work side-by-side with senior level construction professionals to manage and run commercial projects as part of a $800+ million nationally based commercial construction company. The Project Engineer is responsible for the quality and accuracy of project information, and activities. They will play an active role in the management of high profile commercial construction projects across the Portland metro market.
Role Responsibilities
Change Orders
Price change orders and submit requests to owner
Assist in the formulation and tracking of change orders and budget information
Forward budget and change order information to Project Manager.
Provide change order information to field personnel
Maintain the Change Order log
Estimating
Prepare estimates for new projects
Prepare quantity takeoffs and solicit any subcontracting prices
Assist client with budgets and value engineering
Build client relations through exceeding customer expectations
Daily Duties
Review daily reports for accuracy (account numbers and other information)
Oversee field reports and accounting from Field Personnel
Coordinate with General Contractors
Assist with job correspondence
Provide updated plans and schedules to the PM and the GC
Maintain project log
Scheduling
Create and update schedules for jobs as required
Maintain sales-backlog schedules
Conduct continuous evaluations on
Costs (materials, labor)
Misc: Schedules, equipment needs, personnel needs, job safety, and quality control
Relate any problems, changes, or recommendations to the PM
Schedule and purchase all material
Coordinate delivery to achieve the optimal use of material, labor, and equipment
Maintain close contact and a good working relationship with the public, engineers, inspectors, and customers to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image
