The Area Sales Manager will manage and steer a group of Field Sales Specialists in their assigned geographic market.
Will support sales plan and targets for sales team based on country targets and will drive performance improvement of group to achieve sales goals. Additionally, will oversee sales revenue generation, profit and/or expense and develop sales plans and budgets within a defined geographic region. You will partner with other sales leaders to communicate sales problems, geographical business observations and customer feedback.
Background Required:
International freight forwarding sales experience
Sales team supervision (5+ years) or management (3+ years)
Demonstrated ability to win, develop and close new business
Proven track record in sales staff development & training
Deep knowledge of air, ocean, imports and exports
Strong negotiation skills
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
Ability to travel to assigned as needed
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Residence: Greater Chicago, IL area
Background Preferred (but not required):
Salesforce expertise
Freight forwarding operations
Education: Master’s degree
Other Essential Abilities and Skills:
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Superior leadership skills
Ability to motivate a team
Outgoing and upbeat attitude
