Analytics Engineer, Core Data& Analytics

Ibotta is seeking an Analytics Engineer, Core Data& Analytics to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding.You will be responsible for using the latest developments in ETL and ELT for providing the organization trusted and curated datasets used as the foundation of critical data products. Our analytics engineers work across our full technology stack (Databricks, Spark, Airflow, GitHub, Python, Monte Carlo, etc) for developing and maintaining these datasets.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office, (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

Be an Ibotta Data Ninja, helping us organize and optimize our data for analysis

Collaborate cross-functionally with decision scientists to aggregate, optimize, and productionalize foundational datasets for analysis

Partner with other data related teams including engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering and data science to represent data requirements and best practices through the data development, validation, and management process

Identify, validate, document, and UAT event-based data for business use across the organization

Understand the underlying dataset business business logic to help document, test, and maintain valuable products

Develop datasets with our defined business and technical standards to ensure reliability, trustworthiness, etc; eg - Include automated altering and anomaly detection into data flow

Own multiple mid-sized projects end-to-end with input and or requirements provided by peers and stakeholders

Guide cross-functional stakeholders through the optimization and productionalization of domain specific datasets

What we are looking for:

3+ years of practical work experience in a data engineering role supporting an analytics team or equivalent experience as an analytics engineer or BI developer

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics or a related field required

Proficiency with some or all of:

End-to-end data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes and tools (AWS Glue, DBT, etc.)

AWS EcoSystem and cloud-based data warehouse and architecture

Airflow, DataBricks, Git, Monte Carlo

Multiple languages and frameworks (Python, Scala, strong SQL, Spark) highly preferred

Development in a modern BI/data visualization platform (Looker, Tableau, etc.)

Event-driven architectures and platforms a strong plus

Experience identifying and troubleshooting data anomalies and pipeline issues

Proven track record managing and updating cluster configurations to ensure workflow operation

Demonstrated ownership of data throughout its lifecycle and collaboration with SMEs to understand the business context of the data

Additional Details:

This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, and equity.Denver office perks include paid parking, bagel Thursdays, snacks and occasional meals.

Base compensation range: $100,000 - $135,000. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
