PURPOSE:
LDP is a leadership development program focused on selecting and rotating promising and high potential employees through key areas of the organization with the purpose of building a funnel of skilled leaders for position replacements and growth opportunities.
Key program components include:
SELECTION:
Employees will be sourced from university business programs, and selected using objective, behavioral interviews. The interviews will focus on Insight Core Values behaviors, school and community activities, and commitment to following the LDP program.
MENTORS:
The program will include active mentoring from a different member of leadership through the rotations. The mentor will not be in the employee’s immediate chain of command for their current rotational assignment. This provides consistent exposure to leadership, and a less formal support process for the participant.
ROTATIONS:
Employees will be rotated through key departments throughout the program over a 20-month period. Specific departments include:
Clinics (MA and Office Functions)
Accounting
Business Development/Marketing
Forged by Fire - deployment to an urgent or crisis assignment - unexpected, ambiguous and a chance to show your adaptability, fortitude, creativity and mettle!
Rotations will last approximately 4 months, and employees will be expected to learn positions so that they can provide value-added input to the department, but proficiency is not a requirement before graduation to the next rotation.
A LDP leadership council and the department supervisor will formally assess the participant’s technical and behavioral competencies, as well as department project deliverables at the end of each rotation. The council provides feedback and determines the participant’s readiness for the next rotation, or an alternative.
ROTATION PROJECT DELIVERABLE:
Every participant will be expected to create a project for each rotation department. This project will require a recommendation, strategy, presentation and implementation of an improvement for the assigned department. This project can be assigned, or develop organically based on the participant’s observations.
LATERAL DEVELOPMENT PATH:
While the program is designed to provide the participants with wide organizational exposure with an end goal of attaining a leadership position, there will be occasions when it becomes evident that a participant may need a different lateral development path. This may be due to an affinity for certain skills, a passion for a specific department, or a business need for that participant to pivot in a different direction.
COMPENSATION:
Participants will be paid a base salary, competitive with an entry level manager role and will be eligible for a bonus at the end of each rotation based on behaviors, technical learnings and project outcomes.
Qualified candidates will have:
A BBA or equivalent (MBA or MHA preferred)
Exemplary examples of exhibiting Insight's Core Values including ENERGY, EXECUTION, LOYALTY, INNOVATION, SYNERGY, ADAPTABILITY, ETHICS & INTEGRITY, and LOVE.
Commitment to personal and professional development
