Job Description
Position: IBM i Sr. Systems Developer
Job Location: Farm Credit Bank of Texas, Austin, Texas. Telecommuting (work from home) permitted within metropolitan statistical area.
Job Duties:
Understand the business requirements and make modifications to the corresponding program modules in RPG, CL, and files in DB2 to achieve the business change [30% of time dedicated to this duty].
Create test cases and execute them to get the test results document which need to be approved by the business to implement the changes in production [5%].
Implement screens and new batch process to automate the operations and business owners task as per request [10%].
Support the production and test run of the cardinal batches to make sure that the batches are run without errors and on time with all the reports getting created [10%].
Analyze and provide response to other teams on the business queries related with the flow of data through cardinal accounting system to other systems [5%].
Prepare script documents for complex report to provide for audit and other business teams request from the RPG programs [5%].
Utilize expertise in Power servers, IBM i operating systems, modern RPG development, and Db2 for i [20%].
Provide technical infrastructure support for various systems software including, but not limited to, operating systems, system utilities, programming languages, databases (IBM i, Db2 for i), performance tools, Query, Access Client Solutions, Navigator for i, support and maintenance through the application and testing of technical updates and temporary software fixes [15%].
In connection with above duties, utilize experience in RPGLE, RPG/400, CLI400, DB2/400, RPG 3, RPG IV, RPGILE, SQLRPGLE, Java, SQL/400, COBOL/400, and CL/400.
Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, or related field plus 2 years experience in job offered or 2 years experience in related occupation using experience in the following: RPGLE, RPG/400, CLI400, DB2/400, RPG 3, RPG IV, RPGILE, SQLRPGLE, Java, and SQL/400. Also requires 1 year experience in COBOL/400 and CL/400.
In lieu of Master's degree, employer will accept Bachelor's degree in above listed fields plus 5 years of progressive work experience in related occupation. Experience may be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
