About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development to lead and advance its fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that ensures sustainable, diversified revenue streams to support the organization's mission. This includes major gifts cultivation, stakeholder engagement, disaster service engagement, and board leadership. The role involves managing a high-performing team of 30, with a focus on strategic and collaborative leadership, and requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in scaling development functions in high-growth organizations.Candidates for the VP of Development position at The Company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least 15 years of experience in nonprofit development, and a strong background in major donor cultivation and direct solicitation. Proficiency in CRM systems, outstanding communication skills, and a customer-centric approach are essential. The ideal candidate will have a nonprofit background, be adept at project management, and demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Experience with government funding is a significant plus. Personal attributes should include a strong ethical orientation, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a collaborative, supportive leadership style. The role is remote, with a preference for candidates based in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, or Washington, DC, and requires frequent travel.
