Senior Buyer
Tracking Code 23472 Job Description Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Senor Buyer will be a team player that keeps in mind KPS strategic plans and manages then manages tactical execution with the supply chain for all internal and external customers.
The Senior Buyer assists the purchasing team in maintaining an adequate supply of all raw materials and MRO items for manufacturing, including purchases requiring drop shipments to customer sites. The employee will help manage the supply chain ensuring that adequate materials, equipment, or supplies arrive as confirmed consistent with the required quality, quantity, and agreed to cost. The Senior Buyer will maintain daily reports, assist in launching new programs, and work with managing the supply chain by developing various supply related analysis.
Required Skills The preferred candidate would have the following skill sets:
* Above average knowledge of purchasing, contract (purchase order) law.
* Strong character, moral principles, and ethics and a desire to get the job done right.
* Experience with centralized and decentralized procurement models.
* Track record of successful development, collaboration, and implementation of programs with supply chain partners creating increased net value for the entire supply chain.
* Benchmarking company suppliers against industrys best in class by Category.
* Development and implementation of a cloud based centralized procurement program for all indirect purchases system wide ensuring timely and accurate processing of requests.
* Computer and software savvy, especially in Excel, able to get things done.
* Manages the CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) Item Creation part numbering system for new purchased parts.
* Responsibility for maintaining inventory according to stated goals of levels and/or turns.
* Good understanding of demand and supply, i.e., planning, BOMs, inventory, Cycle Counting, and conducting root cause analysis of inventory record imbalances.
* Actively develops new sources of supply and recommends substitute materials.
Required Experience Seven (7) ten (10) years of experience in Purchasing at a Buyer II level, or five (5) years or more of on-the-job experience as a Buyer III having worked in a discrete manufacturing environment with a thorough understanding of Master Scheduling, Planning, Production Control, Bills-of-Materials, Inventory Management, Shipping, and Receiving.
