We are seeking a talented individual to join our Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. The GSE Supervisor is responsible for the performance and oversight of high quality, safe, reliable, timely and cost-effective maintenance and repair of aircraft ground support equipment (AGSE).
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day operations of the GSE repair department.
Maintain acceptable productivity levels, cost effective repairs, required parts inventory and meet financial objectives.
Evaluate equipment repair costs and make recommendations on repairs.
Prioritize equipment repairs.
Monitor safety practices and procedures in the shop.
Evaluate maintenance work practices and identify methods to improve productivity.
Review work orders for completeness and accuracy.
Provide technical assistance to technicians as needed.
Coordinate with other departments on equipment needing repair or maintenance.
Coach/counsel employees who violate Company policy, or fail to meet company standards.
Supervise performance of scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and unscheduled repairs, warranty procedures and repairs on ground support equipment.
Supervise the sequence of operations to troubleshoot both powered and non-powered GSE to remove, disassemble, clean, check, repair, rework, replace, fabricate, install and adjust many building components, automotive and ground equipment, machinery, accessories, parts, etc., and explaining the work procedures to personnel assigned to assist in that work.
Plan and execute complex maintenance assignments requiring knowledge of combustion engines, AC and DC electrical systems, hydraulic systems, mechanical systems and/or electronic systems. Skills in painting and/or welding.
Assist in the use of complex troubleshooting, testing and repair tools, such as but not limited to wiring diagrams and schematics, load banks, multi-meters and pressure gauges and flow meters.
Verify documented repairs, parts and labor on the computer using both internal and customer-based fleet maintenance software.
Read codes and instructions on the computer.
Coordinate training of all GSE employees.
Perform additional duties as required.
Job Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent, plus Technical Training.
Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a maintenance shop environment. Minimum five years proven preventative maintenance, tire and brake experience on medium to heavy-duty vehicles. ASE Master Technician Certification and/or Military AGE experience preferred.
Must possess excellent technical, interpersonal, supervisory and time management skills. Ability to be a critical thinker and active listener. Accomplished leader and decision maker. Must have strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and understand repair manuals and instructions.
Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
