Job Purpose
The Director of Operations will partner with the Regional Director of Operations to create, develop and implement policies and procedures for the Warehouse and Transportation departments. This individual is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations that impact operations of each of the branches and company as a whole. The Director of Operations will execute the strategies and processes to enhance operations of the company in addition to supporting each branch on their operations. Results will be achieved by continuous process improvement, measuring key performance indicators and developing a strong understanding of internal systems, developing associates, resolving issues swiftly, and allocating resources as needed to drive results and meet changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of Operations will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.
Lead the operations teams to constantly strive on improving the quality and efficiency of existing operations by implementing new systems and/or improving upon existing procedures, end goal being a safe, high quality, cost-efficient operation; key areas of focus are inventory, purchasing, fleet management, labor management, safety, and driving creation and implementation of SOP’s
Lead operational management teams to achieve develop and/or improve operational processes
Lead process improvement for each area of operations through communication around departments
Work closely with the Warehouse and Transportation staff to form policies and procedures and execute them
Demonstrate experience and working knowledge of the systems and drive improvement and ensure team management is align in those goals
Evaluate new opportunities and develop (with the team) robust operational solutions
Manage and improve corporate operational relationships, for achieving lowest cost with improved service methods
Manage new business implementation with strong project management process on a timely basis
Maintain and improve strong client resolutions
Working with the Regional Director of Operations to assist the operations management team in setting policies, procedures, and systems and following through with implementation, consistently advising of progress
Develop and implement warehouse and logistics operational systems and procedures to provide required information for all operational activities
Organizational development including the hiring, development, management and leading of staff including warehouse, delivery & installation, load crew and maintenance
Budget and capital expenditure forecasting
Assist colleagues as needed
Address issues regarding inventory and pricing
Attend staff and other scheduled business meetings
Perform other tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience

At least 5 years of management experience within food distribution and service-oriented environment
Experience managing, leading and training employees within a warehouse/logistics operation with at least 80 employees
Experience successfully managing an operational budget
Strong knowledge of OSHA & Safety Regulations
Must have excellent communication skills to effectively deal with different functional managers
Excellent prioritizing and organizational skills, and good decision-making skills
Ability to communicate and present data to varying levels of the organization
