Senior Cellular Software Engineer

Pay Range - $119,000.00 - $183,448.00 (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills)

Job Summary:

Senior Cellular Software Engineer will be responsible for developing the 5G base station hardware and software platform. This is part of the KWIC 5G Base Station Development. Development of Kyocera advanced base station for markets in Japan and other countries.

Job Duties:

* Setup 5G Base Station CU/DU Server, Install OS, Network Interface based on various requirements.

* Installs, setup interfaces to Hardware Accelerator (FEC, NIC),

* Works with other engineers to develop FlexRAN test infrastructure.

* Works with team members to develop and execute Test Cases for Unit Test, and Radio Mode Test for RU and DU/CU.

* Works with other engineers to develop, enable, and debug of the new features from the baseline software/server platform for DU

* Works with other engineers to exercise various tests AC, Test Applications, Unit Test, and Radio Mode Test OTA with combined DU-RU and UE emulator.

* Works with system engineer for fine-tuning task manager, parameters for performance optimization for various test load conditions.

* Works with other team members to debug and analyze new feature logs.

* Works closely with global protocol team to resolve customer issues found in lab/field/IOT/carrier test.

* Master's degree with 6-8 years or PhD with 2 years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, communication area or related field preferred.

* 6+ years of experience in Software/Firmware industrial

* Knowledge of Carrier-grade high capacity/performance base station requirements.

* In-depth understanding of 3GPP 5G NR and ORAN standards

* Experience with Programming: C/C++ and Python, Shell script, XML, YAML

* In-depth understanding of 5G NR FR2 Protocol stack (Layer 1: FFT, NCO, Filter, Encoder/Decoder. SDK, DPDK, Layer 2/Layer 3: Radisys)

* In-depth understanding of Core Network, traffic generator

* In-depth understanding of the Network and Edge Cloud Architecture and the deployment of the cloud-native Kubernetes clusters

* In-depth knowledge of Server setup

* In-depth knowledge of OS: Ubuntu, Redhead, Rocky Linux

* In-depth knowledge Network connectivity, Ansible Host, Git Utilities

* In-depth knowledge RT Kernel performance enhancement for Intel Xeon Saphire Rapids or Cascade Lake Wind River Titanium Cloud

* In-depth understanding of virtualization and cloudification and related hardware/software architecture

* Good understanding with HW abstraction Layer / DSP.

* Good understanding of Xeon platform and RT kernel and accelerator

* Experience with (Keysight/R&S/Viavi) test equipment and software for Layer 1/2/3 test.

* In-depth knowledge Bios Profiles is a plus.
