The Director of Sourcing is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives that ensure cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This position oversees the work and development of category managers and sourcing project managers in executing various sourcing initiatives, including RFX, supplier development and compliance, resourcing, sourcing for new product development, VA/VE, supplier relationship, and contract management. The role involves leading a direct team of sourcing professionals while also aligning with an indirect team in sub-segments.
Duties:
Develop and communicate a sourcing strategy; establish, communicate, and implement long-term goals for the department to meet business objectives and KPIs.
Negotiate for the best possible cost and service guarantees, developing “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers.
Achieve objectives such as cost reduction, total landed cost, supplier consolidation, and supplier performance and compliance.
Advance the organization’s segment in the industrialization journey by implementing actions and activities set forth in the group industrialization roadmap.
Identify, recruit, and retain a high-performing sourcing team.
Communicate and administer sourcing team performance and development plans and appraisals, aiming to develop team members.
Represent Sourcing as a collaborative and trusted business partner for all business units and departments.
Create, develop, and audit the strategic sourcing process for the entire organization to ensure alignment across sub-segments.
Oversee contract development and administration.
Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for the procurement team and organization.
Perform data analytics to identify areas of opportunity related to total landed cost improvement.
Generate reports that support the business with lagging and leading indicators (e.g., raw material index, piece price variation, cost performance, cost reduction, tariffs and duties).
Conduct business plan reviews with strategic and core suppliers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Finance.
7-10 years of related experience, with at least 5 years in management.
Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier collaboration, development, and compliance.
Exemplary multitasking and organizational skills.
Experience working for publicly traded companies.
Multicultural work experience.
Willingness to travel up to 30% (domestic and international).
Solid analytical and computer skills.
Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization.
Strong executive presentation skills and attention to detail.
Outstanding team building and leadership skills.
Bilingual (preferred).
Experience working with suppliers worldwide.
