About the Role:

Aquila is seeking a Software Developer to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. Software Developer will use a combination of technical analysis, modeling, simulation, emulation, prototype development, and flight evaluation to develop new communication systems and evaluate and predict their performance under expected conditions.

There are a few requirements for the position:

Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)

Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)

Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities:

This position is for a Software Engineer with extensive experience in software design, development, integration, testing and analysis in order to build network protocols for tactical systems.

Developer should thrive in a rapid-prototyping environment with fast design-debug cycles.

C++ is the primary language for development.

A strong background in software development of IP routing protocols as well as multicast, and socket programming is required.

Development experience in a native Linux environment is required.

Experience running tests utilizing the Common Open Research Emulator is required.

Experience in network protocol design, network performance monitoring

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's Degree

5 years Protocol Design

5 years C/C++ Programming

5 years Development experience on a Linux platform

5 years Network programming

5 years Software Design/Development

5 years Software development of networking protocols

3 years Experience running tests utilizing the Common Open Research Emulator

This position is VIRTUAL . The candidate can work remotely but they MUST live within 100 miles of Lexington so that they can come into the organization if necessary for the needs of the program. The onsite work will NOT be regular.

Clearance:

An interim clearance is sufficient for the start of this position. An active clearance is highly preferred!
