Reports to: Executive Vice President
Employment Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly, 45-50 hours per week
Compensation: $68,000 - $85,000 annually based on experience

Responsibilities:
Vehicle Inspection and Diagnostics Conduct thorough inspections of trucks to identify and diagnose mechanical issues.
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to assess the condition of engines, transmissions, brakes, and other essential components.
Small Equipment Conduct thorough inspection on forestry equipment, such as chippers, loaders, stump grinders, and lifts.
Repair and Maintenance Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotations.
Conduct complex repairs on engines, transmissions, and other major truck components.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
Coordinate repairs with local vendors and business partners, as necessary.
Parts Replacement Replace faulty or worn-out parts, including but not limited to, belts, hoses, filters, and exhaust systems.
Ensure the use of high-quality replacement parts and maintain an organized inventory.
Record-Keeping Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
Provide documentation for completed work, including parts used, labor hours, and any additional recommendations for future repairs.
Utilize and enter data into Fleetio Fleet Management Software.
Safety Compliance Adhere to safety standards and guidelines when performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
Identify potential safety hazards and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe working environment.
Collaboration Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors.
Collaborate with drivers to gather information on the performance of the trucks and address any concerns promptly.
Training and Development Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and new repair techniques.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to truck mechanics.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Certification High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal education or certification in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
Driver’s License Maintain a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within one year.
Required enrollment in Wisconsin’s Public Abstract Request System which notifies employer of all driving violations. Enrollment completed by provider upon hire.
Experience Proven experience as a truck mechanic.
Experience with a variety of truck makes and models.
Ability to operate forestry equipment (chippers, loaders, stump grinders, lifts)
Technical Skills Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other truck components.
