As the Senior Manager, SOX Compliance at RXO, you will serve as a part of the Internal Audit team responsible for advancing enterprise-wide internal control and compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The Senior Manager, SOX Compliance works closely with accounting-unit leaders, process owners and control-activity owners in the accounting and finance organization as well as other non-finance stakeholders. In this role, you will combine technical auditing skills and current technologies with a collaborative approach to participate in the enhancement and execution of the SOX program and the development of the annual audit plan.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Drive the evolution of the SOX compliance program through continuous improvement and standardization of all components of internal control.
Set standards for the design and operating-effectiveness testing of control activities, including financial controls, application controls and general information-technology controls. Draft, expose for comment, and issue related policies and procedures.
Effectively communicate to stakeholders through periodic and ad hoc process-owner meetings, at which expectations are clarified, changes in regulation are shared, status is communicated, and training is provided.
Consult on continuous updating of process documentation, including flowcharts, narratives, and risk/control matrices.
Oversee all aspects of the technology platform utilized to deliver the RXO SOX program, including optimization of system functionality and maintenance of all system data.
Provide support to financial and IT process owners and control-activity owners in the deficiency-evaluation and remediation process. Evaluate the collective significance of findings for the annual internal-control assessment.
Identify areas of operational, financial, and technology risk and help the respective business functions to mitigate those risks while working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Assist the Chief Audit Executive in developing the annual audit plan leveraging process knowledge from the SOX program
Liaison with the business providing thought leadership and guidance to support their fiduciary, regulatory, and compliance obligations
What you'll need to excel:
At a minimum, you'll need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
5 years industry experience in accounting, finance and/or internal controls
Strong knowledge of SOX, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, Generally Accepted Audit Standards (GAAS) and GAAP
Fundamental knowledge of IIA standards, Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) framework, audit risk assessment practices and fraud detection techniques
It'd be great if you also have:
CPA, CIA, or equivalent experience
6+ years' experience and 2+ years' experience with SOX; preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm
