Job Description
Our Government customer develops and operates unique and innovative reconnaissance systems and conducts intelligence-related activities for U.S. National Security. IT within our customer plays a key role in the success of the War Fighter "boots on the ground" and within the Intelligence Community in order to share actionable intelligence on both mission-enabled systems and those centered on the day to day business aspects within the agency.
Blackspoke is a trusted member of a larger team of strategic partners. We provide services to an Intelligence Community agency with a focus in security and counterintelligence. Program focus areas include analytical services, insider threat analysis support, counterintelligence IT architectures, development, and maintenance, counterintelligence inquiries and referent activities, and surge support on various other counterintelligence initiatives.
What you will be working on:
We are seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA, supporting critical missions within the intelligence community. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, along with DoD IAT II certification (Level III preferred) and at least 5 years of related experience. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of data security administration principles, methods, and techniques, as well as experience with A&A and RMF processes, continuous monitoring, security compliance, threat prevention, vulnerability mitigation, and the development of security plans and contingency plans.
Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information and systems.
Conduct security assessments, audits, and evaluations to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
Develop and implement security plans and contingency plans to mitigate potential security risks and threats.
Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to address security concerns and implement security best practices.
Provide guidance and support on security-related matters to team members and stakeholders.
Stay current with industry trends and developments in cybersecurity to enhance security posture.
What you will bring to us:
Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
DoD IAT II certification required, Level III preferred.
What you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
5+ years of related experience in information systems security.
Comprehensive knowledge of data security administration principles, methods, and techniques.
Experience with A&A and RMF processes, continuous monitoring, security compliance, threat prevention, and vulnerability mitigation.
Ability to work independently under limited supervision.
Preferred skills include experience using Splunk and ServiceNow, familiarity with cloud security fundamentals, and previous experience in the NRO is preferred.
