Marketing Director - Core Innovation

Primary Purpose
The Marketing Director, Core Brand Innovation, is responsible for managing new product introductions from idea to commercialization by championing and driving new ideas through a cross-functional stage & gate process. This role is also responsible for developing a “close to the core” innovation strategy for Swisher brands, including innovation territories and “profit pools” and aligning the organization towards the highest value creation innovation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement innovation strategies collaborating with cross-functional teams to address the changing regulatory environment, and driving experimental discovery
Develop and present brand innovation recommendations to senior leadership
Develop innovation analytics, including metrics such as product vitality, NPV etc.
Identify, elevate and execute “close to the core” brand innovation opportunities aligned with the overall vision of the brands
Lead innovation projects from ideation through commercialization with virtually every function in the company to achieve the brand’s goals
Collaborate within the marketing organization to drive experimental discovery and new product programs
Anticipate future trends, challenges, and consequences, creating breakthrough business strategies and plans to achieve a competitive advantage
Qualifications
Required
10+ years in Consumer Packaged Goods Marketing Innovation or related field
4+ years’ people management experience
Familiarity with Stage-Gate processes and programs
Extensive experience with product commercialization and a track record of driving successful product launches
Ability to manage and maintain several external relationships simultaneously
Ability to develop compelling business cases to help align the organization toward high-value priorities
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to partner, influence and inspire innovation at every level, internally and externally
Hands-on, “get-it-done,” results-driven, positive mentality complemented by the ability to be agile, prioritize and multi-task
Exceptional organizational and critical problem-solving abilities with experience analyzing data and insights
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Education
Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field
Travel: 20%-30%
