Bi-Lingual Social Worker - FT - Temp to Hire - Philadelphia County
The Social Worker engages in a collaborative, two-generation approach to build trusting partnerships with families, support nurturing parent-child relationships, and coordinate services. As part of the Early Head Start team, the Social Worker handles home visits, case and crisis management, emotional support, and parenting groups.
Responsibilities include home visits, intensive case and crisis management, emotional support, and parenting groups. The role involves developing goal-oriented partnerships with families, facilitating intake processes and assessments, using assessment data to determine care levels, and creating and monitoring family service agreements. Additional duties include leading workshops and support groups, connecting families with community services, encouraging parental involvement, planning parent/child activities, assessing risks, maintaining records, participating in meetings, and supporting service integration. Professional development, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding ethical standards are also essential.
Position Requirements
BSW or MSW with 2-3 years of experience in direct service to low-income families is required. Experience with pregnant women, infants, toddlers, teens, and young adults is essential. The candidate should be skilled in home visits, linking families to community resources, and coordinating services. Experience with families affected by homelessness, substance use, violence, trauma, grief, and loss is necessary. Proficiency in trauma-informed and reflective interventions is also required.
