Job Description
The Procurement CategorySpecialist is responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, services andequipment to support the overall operational efficiency of our global supplychain team. This person must be able to handle multiple tasks at a time whilebeing able to effectively collaborate with all different departments such asfinance, sales, marketing, R&D, and supply chain. In addition, this personwill interact with all levels of the business from associates to the Presidentof the company. This role is key in supporting the overall initiatives andgoals for the global supply chain team.
Responsiblefor the development, implementation, management and performance ofsourcing strategies for Indirect & CapEx while having the ability toassist with Direct (as needed), to meet business goals and objectives
Manages theassessment, selection and development of strategic suppliers to meet costand performance goals
Managingsupplier relationships, performing root cause analysis and resolutions,developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans
Establishesa strong network and fosters collaboration with customers, suppliers, keystakeholders and team members
Research andbenchmark current commodity market conditions/trends, developingtechnologies, supply chain capacity/capability, product knowledge,customer requirements and supply/demand challenges
Responsiblefor the procurement of contracts including the management of cost,schedule and performance parameters. Developing contract specifications,work statements and terms and conditions.
Develops bidpackages, conducts bidders' conferences, analyses, and evaluatesproposals, negotiate subcontract provisions, selects, or recommendssubcontractors, writes awards, and manages resulting subcontracts.
Maintainsvendor performance (direct and indirect) and reports metrics to GlobalProcurement Manager
Educatecompany employees on Procurement policies and procedures while providingperiodic training
Connectingwith plant personnel to discuss and offer problem solving techniques tooverall performance from an operational and cost perspective
Requirements
Bachelor'sdegree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business Administration. MBA is aplus.
5 years proven procurementexperience ideally in the chemical industry
APICS or ISOCertified is a plus
Excel functions such asVLOOKUP, XLOOKUP and pivot tables
